BG 277 – The ancient oak (Pantoum poem)

This is the scene of an ancient oak
In summer its bright green leaves rustle
In winter its gnarly branches poke
Around it all the life forms bustle

In summer its bright green leaves rustle
Its acorns offer delicious food
Around it all the life forms bustle
The birds in nests take care of their brood

Its acorns offer delicious food
Busy squirrels hide them everywhere
The birds in nests take care of their brood
Children collect the acorns with care

Busy squirrels hide them everywhere
In the shade of the canopy cloak
Children collect the acorns with care
This is the scene of an ancient oak
