Not only was cursive writing much faster than writing with separate letters, but all the letters of all students were also uniform.
Much easier for the teachers to decipher.

Well, as far as that neat writing is concerned, I never managed that. Even though I tried very seriously, because I loved learning to write and read!
As a shy young girl, I even asked for extra writing exercise books for during the holidays. Even though I kept practicing those beautiful letters and words, I only barely managed to get a passing grade for ‘neat writing’ on my report card every time.

How I ended up with my current handwriting is a mystery to me.
